What to expect:
This is an ongoing Quality Mechanical Source Inspection Inspector position, part-time 3 days a week on the first shift. You will be part of a global inspection team assuring the quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production schedule.
What you’ll do:
You will be conducting precise mechanical inspections at various client-supplier sites primarily in the New England area and surrounding cities.
Detect defects on highly complex products.
Verify documentation packages to industry/commodity-specific standards, and classify defect types.
Verify rework conducted during the time of the inspection.
Read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards.
Validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005” with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, indicators, calipers, height gages).
What you’ll need:
4+ years of hands-on inspection experience with precision machined parts
Knowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
GD&T experience is required
CMM experience (but not necessarily CMM programming experience).
CMM programming experience is a plus
Due to the nature of the products, US Citizenship is also a requirement, and background checks are required.
Hourly rate while on site or working remotely (i.e. completing or modifying reports)
Minimum 4 hours per day if deployed (i.e. "4 hour minimum")
50% hourly rate for any travel time (i.e. "p2p")
Mileage reimbursement at US gov't rate ($0.655 per mile driven). Untaxed.
