3-5 years of hands-on experience in field service engineering in the power distribution industry. In depth experience with power control systems, PLCs, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and schematics is a must. Experience with protective relays, generators, Deif AGC controllers and B&R HMI’s is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Read and understand electrical schematics.
- Recognize and make changes on the electrical drawings in order to meet the SOP requirements.
- Download, upload and correction PLC programs, meter and controller file settings
- Manage Commissioning process and represent SAI to the Customer and Commissioning Agent
- Install, commission, maintains, troubleshoots, and performs field measures of electrical switchgear in the field as needed.
- Train Customer on SAI switchgear systems.
- Troubleshoot switchgear issues per electrical diagrams.
- Perform complex tests to ensure that physical characteristics, mechanical operations, and electrical functions conform to design and Nema and UL standards.
- Assess defects and malfunctions and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to improve test methods and to resolve problems of manufacturing assembly and/or process nature.
- Create and sign off on all required test inspection documents for record and approval for shipment.
- Travel up to 75% and long work hours with variable schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed to maintain operational responsibilities and meet customer needs.
- Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Work with little or no supervision and pro-actively seek out new work.

- Experience with AutoCad, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds without assistance
- Must be able to stand, bend, and lift throughout the course of the work day
- Must be able to work from a ladder or from heights with proper safety equipment
- Must be able to travel for extended period of times, up to 50%
- Must be able to travel and work variable work hours (weekends and holidays) as needed to maintain operational responsibilities
Education Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent job experience
- Experience in switchgear, mechanical/electrical system field service testing
