Main Responsibilities Include:
· Manage the day-to-day activities and expectations of the nursing office and cottages.
· Maintain the overall wellness objectives and standards of care expected at Palm Cottages.
· In conjunction with subordinate supervisors, complete hiring and onboard tasks, train and manage resident care and nursing staff.
· Empower and encourage team development to offer the best possible care to residents.
· Implement and maintain policies that best fit the department and desired outcomes.
· Ensure compliance of documentation and reporting requirements per state and federal regulations.
· Effectively communicate with residents, resident representatives, staff, and co-workers.
· Work with other managers to ensure resident’s accommodations are satisfactory and requests are met.
· Orchestrate resident documentation and ensure staff communication for move-ins, move-outs, and other census or care changes.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Palm Cottage's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
· LPN or RN license in good standing
· Minimum of 3 years experience in managing a team of care staff or related staff team
· Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in long term , community based or assisted living.
· Experience in assessing resident needs and developing approaches to better meet those needs.
· Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage time effectively and meet deadlines accordingly.
· Ability and desire to actively be apart of problem solving and team development.
· Basic knowledge of how to communicate effectively and how to deescalate situations with residents, staff and visitors.
· Basic written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to proficiently used Microsoft products such as, Outlook and Word.
· Experience with an electronic record management system preferred.
Scheduling Requirements of the Position:
- Full Time, Salary – Flexible hours and scheduling
- On-Call – Rotation set by Director of Resident Care
- Weekend and Holiday availability for emergencies
- Most work must be done on site; however flexibility is available to accommodate as needed.
