Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Framing Estimator looking to advance their career. As an Estimator you will be responsible for calculating the total costs associated with framing projects, materials, and equipment. You will be analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time and cost estimates for construction projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Architects, Contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Analysis
· Review and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications
· Scheduling delivery of materials to job sites as per project schedule
- Cost Estimation
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for framing construction projects, materials, and equipment
- Use estimating software and tools to create comprehensive cost breakdowns
- Develop project budgets and timelines
- Bid Preparation
- Prepare competitive bids for framing construction projects
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing and availability of materials
- Ensure bids comply with all contractual and regulatory requirements
- Collaboration and Communication
- Provide detailed reports and documentation to support cost estimates
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide insights based on estimates
- Follow-up on each job to ensure all materials were billed correctly as well as the correct materials were delivered correctly and with the correct amounts
- Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate identified risks
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction methods
- Implement best practices and continuous improvements in the estimation process
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimator, with a strong understanding of blueprints, take-offs, construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to type at 30+ WPM

Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related field preferred
· Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience showing progression from entry-level to roles with increasing responsibility with at least 3 years in a framer position, preferably commercial experience
· Ability to identify mistakes in the architectural and/or structural drawings making necessary changes to the estimate as needed
· Strong understanding of local building codes, standards, and regulations
· Experience with material take-offs and estimating jobs
· Strong organizational skills and planning abilities
· Budgeting and cost control
· Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
· Scheduling and time management
· Ability to motivate a team
· High attention to detail
· Ability to manage the unknown (e.g. material not listed on blueprints)

· Bilingual, Russian, is a plus
