Job Goal
The EC Teacher is responsible for providing an instructional program and the education of assigned students and will create a flexible program and class environment favorable for the learning and personal growth of each student. To establish a positive correlation between the quality of teaching and learning by making instructional decisions based upon student data in a safe, productive, and Islamic learning environment.

Position Overview
Create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth. Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines. Establish effective rapport with students, staff members, and parents. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge to provide an effective educational foundation, by each student's ability. Responsibilities will be added depending on the knowledge shown and the ability to learn. In addition to the above, the role also involves the following responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans which provide for effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task.
- Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunities and provides real-world, application-based examples and learning opportunities.
- Reviews student records to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student's abilities and needs.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records.
- Strives to maximize the educational achievement of each student.
- Utilizes a variety/range of student learning modalities in each lesson and uses differentiated instruction within those lessons.
- Assesses student strengths and weaknesses frequently, provides appropriate activities to address student needs, and generates progress reports as required.
- Refers students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
- Assigns lessons, corrects student work products, and reviews oral presentations.
- Coordinates class field trips (as required).
- Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory and is willing to share this knowledge for the continual improvement of the school's curriculum.

Physical Demand:
Teachers spend most of the day standing and sitting in the classroom. While standing, the teacher will frequently hold light objects they are working on and demonstrating, etc. These can be held from waist level to slightly above the teacher's head. Teachers must be able to walk through the classroom and maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Dealing with students can entail kneeling or squatting, stooping, and bending from 50-70 degrees at the waist on an occasional to the frequent basis on a given day. The chalkboard or whiteboard is occasionally too frequently used, requiring grasping the chalk or marker or eraser, reaching, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity, and may require trunk or neck rotation to look back at class.
The teacher often moves students' desks and chairs to change the classroom layout to influence teaching situations. It is occasionally necessary to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 25 pounds from the office to the classroom up to 200 feet away.
Environmental Demands:
This position works in various settings, including classrooms and outdoors, and may experience heat or cold extremes and fumes, odors, dust, and the noise level is moderate to loud.
