Overview
This position is responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and executing the Human Resources programs and functions of the Company. The position is responsible for employee programs and personnel services. This includes managing programs, processes, and policies that create a competitive and fair workplace for our people. The role shall ensure effective and efficient utilization of our employee resources.
General Responsibilities and Tasks/Duties
Employee Attraction and Retention
- Lead and organize all hiring and recruiting functions with appropriate hiring managers
- Participate in local workforce development activities
- Provide structure for job descriptions, postings, and employee responsibilities
- Evaluate and institute employee programs that are beneficial to employees and the Company
- Execute onboarding and offboarding processes, while completing appropriate administrative steps
- Key member in establishing processes and procedures that shape the Company’s culture
Employee Growth and Development
- Develop programs for training, provide managers and employees opportunities to execute
- Assist department leaders and senior leadership in succession planning
- Provide managers and employees development programs opportunities (formal training courses, rotations, cross training, challenging work assignments, etc.)
- Assist in employee performance reviews and subsequent in year coaching and follow up
- Coordinate and manage employee monthly and annual meetings. (AJC)
Compensation, Benefit structure and execution
- Organize and execution of performance reviews, merit, and bonuses with department managers
- Direct and administer company-wide classification systems
- Employee benefit administration
- Liaison for employee payroll administration
- Direct and administer workers compensation program
- Competitive design and execution of compensation and benefits
Policies, Regulations, and all Personnel Issues
- Establish, maintain, and update employee records and policies
- Resolve employee personnel issues; complaints and resolving problems
- Participate in initiatives to define and uphold Company values and culture
- Developing proper employee rewards and discipline
- Stay current on federal, state, and case law pertaining to labor laws
- Handle/report Workman Comp Claims with Workman’s Comp Insurer and coordinate/communicate with Senior Management
Expectations/Successes:
The HR Manager shall provide the overall organization and structure to ensure we have the proper people resources to take care of our Customers. This leader must provide opportunities for our employees to grow, expand and improve. The position will work to improve our knowledge and skills with emerging technologies. Employee records and files will be kept up to date, organized, confidential, and shared with only appropriate managers. Employee issues will be executed swiftly in a manner that is fair to all employees and the Company. Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or equivalent
· Certified HR Manager (CHRM)
· SHRM-SCP Certification
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
· Firm understanding of labor and employment law
· Ability to manage multiple projects and ongoing initiatives simultaneously
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
