The ICM is responsible for delivering: college and career, social and emotional learning, and workforce development instruction in schools; provide college and career counseling; provide individual and group mentoring; manage student caseloads from high school into post-secondary education or the workforce; and meticulously tracks and monitors participants progression across programs.
The Instructor Case Manager is a Full-Time position. The position will travel between Sharefest participating schools and the Youth Development Center in San Pedro.
Skills & Qualifications

● Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential preferred
● 3-5 years experience as a School or Career Counselor, Educational Advisor, or related field in College and Career Readiness
● 3+ years experience in mentoring youth, individual and/or group
● Experience in social emotional learning or behavioral health instruction
● 4 year college degree
● Experience working in credit recovery, continuation high schools, or related system of high risk and high need transitional age youth
● Cooperative, not competitive, mindset
● Strong ability to foster and exercise trust, respect, and integrity with all staff, students, and community partners at all times
Roles & Responsibilities - 60%
Program Facilitation & Instruction
● Program Facilitation
○ Provide career, college, and workforce instruction and counseling for youth who are facing graduation challenges in our schools and summer program
○ Infuse professional development, life skills, and social emotional learning into all instruction
○ Collaborate with faculty, PSWs and staff to reduce student barriers to success
○ Lead professional development workshops for staff as assigned
○ Build relationships with students, school administration and teachers
○ Provide leadership to students, establishing a warm and safe learning environment
○ Motivate program participants through dynamically delivered instruction
○ Lead mentoring, coaching, and function as supportive school counseling leader to all participants and instructional staff
○ Demonstrate a genuine and attentive interest in participant’s well-being and outcomes
○ Supervise and ensure youth safety at all times, observing all policies in the Youth Policy Manual and school policies
○ Inform Program Manager of any challenges, seeking to discover and participate in collaborative solutions
○ Assist in lesson planning and curriculum writing as required
○ Implement lessons, as prescribed in curriculum and creatively engaging students in learning objectives that align with Sharefest’s missional goals and program outcomes
○ Prior to class read and prepare all elements of daily lesson plans
○ Administer Pre/Post Surveys and other data collection as required
○ Meticulously monitor and track student participation, grading assignments, and other as required
○ Explore new instructional strategies for reaching Sharefest's missional goals
○ Utilize strong classroom management tools and techniques
○ Provide ongoing evaluation and encouragement to ensure students are progressing in daily class and provide additional support when needed
○ Assist with all administrative duties related to programming
○ Follow mandated reporting guidelines
○ Participate in all Sharefest meetings, trainings, and staff development activities as required.
○ Participate in photo, video, and voice over collateral for the organization's marketing efforts
Mentorship Program & Case Management- 40%
● Establish/Facilitate individual and group mentoring instruction
● Help mentee develop career plans, resumes, prepare college access documents, and set short & long term goals for their economic, interpersonal and career success
● Work with the Director of Education to continuously improve classroom instruction to ensure we are reaching Sharefest's missional goals
● Facilitate mentee access to resources and removing barriers to graduation, college, or career per Sharefest program protocols and design
● Schedule and maintain updated mentoring tracking requirements at all times.
● Recruit and build relationships and rapport with mentees
● Meet with mentees once a week in person and/or over the phone, zoom, facetime with group/individual mentees – and/or as assigned by the Director of Education
● Assist mentees with navigating through the educational and workforce pipeline and support them towards graduation
● Engage in ongoing professional development
● Maintain and document mentorship and case management notes in excel and/or Apricot database
● As required, refer and link participants to mental health and other services
● Conduct additional meetings with mentee and family, as needed
