Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an Warehouse Associate/Order Picker to join our warehouse team. As an Warehouse Associate/Order Picker, you will beresponsible for hand building rolling carts of product for bulk, and route trucks. Each type of loading requires strict attention to order accuracy with respect to loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. Works from electronic order system or load out sheets to build/pick orders manually, by hand. Position is responsible for accuracy in picking and complying with load out documentation.
Follows warehouse instructions in building loadouts. Employees must maintain a clean and safe work environment. Position may be required to work across a wide variety of weather conditions and hours, shift duration depends on workload and may vary daily.
Transport truck loading involves moving full pallets/carts of products from the warehouse onto a trailer and removing any returned products. Responsible for unloading materials and placing them in designated warehouse space or transferring to available Transport Trailers.
Bulk truck loading involves selecting designated products from the warehouse and loading them onto a rolling cart. Position is responsible for maintaining the stability of the cart through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping. In most cases, carts are loaded onto a truck/trailer for local delivery.
Route truck loading involves selecting designated carts of products from the warehouse and loading them into the truck. Product/packages for each truck are customized based on the salespersons order. Position is responsible for unloading returned products upon return from their respective daily routes.
Essential Functions
- Drive/push pallet jack or forklift to picking area and build cart loadouts according to load sheet
- Circle load ticket for out-of-stock items
- Mark off all selected products as you pick them
- Wrap carts when load is finished
- Turn in paperwork with order for check before loading and have truck checked
- Stage carts and/or load into Route trucks when ready
- Load/Unload completed carts securely onto/off of Transport Trailers each day. Includes Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Pensacola Transport Tractor Trailers
- Build partial pallets and put away mixed pallets
- Maintain proper housekeeping/safety standards in work area
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
- Maintain positive ongoing relationship with delivery drivers associated with accounts ie:Daily communications
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage
- Conduct quality control checks on outgoing orders
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as required
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (if applicable)
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (GED) 18 years or older.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., order selector/picking product storage, product staging, powered pallet jack/forklifts, etc.)
- Experience working in a team environment (e.g., cooperating with co-workers, joint problem solving, etc.)
