Major Capital Campaign Grant Writer/Corporate and Foundations Gift Manager
Job Summary
The Major Gifts and Capital Campaign Grant Writer/Corporate and Foundations Gift Manager will be directly responsible for identifying, contacting, and submitting fully developed requests for major capital grants for funding from corporations, foundations and individuals to support a $50,000,000 capital campaign to transform an aging residential building for low-income seniors who would otherwise be homeless or in an institution.
The VNA Senior Living Communities have been caring for seniors since 1906, providing a safe home and services for the most disadvantaged in our communities. The VNA recently took over a 100-unit facility that was in imminent danger of closing. The aging buildings have long been neglected and are in dire need of a complete overhaul. Current costs are projected to be in the 50-million-dollar range. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to drive this campaign.
Job Duties
- Conduct research to identify opportunities and potential corporate and foundation funders that could be interested in supporting the VNA’s mission.
- Develop a portfolio of corporate/foundation prospects including cultivation, solicitation, and application.
- Write proposals, manage the review and editing process as well as shepherding proposals throughout the submission process.
- Maintain relationships with grantors, corporate donors, and foundation representatives through phone and email, and organize on site or virtual visits for donors, and prospects.
- Maintain a master database and calendar tracking process for proposal and report due dates; ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports according to deadlines.
- Represent the President/CEO and Board of Directors throughout the campaign.
- Provide writing support for the President (thank you letters and other correspondence)
Qualifications
- College Degree preferred, but not required
- 3-5 years’ experience writing grant proposals, with a proven track record of success
- Excellent communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and produce high-quality work.
- Confident professional who can work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve a successful campaign.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds without assistance.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $70,294.00 - $90,009.00 per year
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
