The Communications Specialist will directly contribute to a collaborative, self-organized Communications Team, consisting of 3 people. The Communication Specialist will work with their peers and resource documents to properly prioritize, delegate, and assign the requests that are received and evaluated within a Shared Outlook inbox. Aside from organizing and assigning communications requests, the Communications Specialist will also be required to directly impact and complete the tasks assigned to them. Examples of tasks include but are not limited to: analyzing the taskers received, reviewing the tasker and making changes/edits where appropriate, determining the next step for said tasker through knowledge capture and utilizing resources such as a RACI matrix, assigning the tasker to the proper POC(s), and tracking and supporting the tasker through the remaining steps of its workflow to ensure timely completion.

Monitor RCA mailbox for incoming taskers and requests

Thoroughly reading, analyzing, and comprehending the contents of the taskers and applying the knowledge captured from resource documents to properly review, edit, and assign the tasker to the next POC of an applicable approvals workflow

Tracking and reporting on the status of open taskers using spreadsheets and meetings/presentations with leadership

Follow up with relevant offices to ensure deadlines are not missed and that taskers are properly tracked to completion

Updating all tasker tracking and reporting information to maintain real-time accuracy of data

Must be a U.S. citizen

Must be able to pass DHS background investigation

Writing and/or document management experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience using collaborative workspaces like SharePoint

Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and ensures work is completed with accuracy

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The annual salary range for this position is $55,064.00 to $82,400.00. Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws.
