Act as a Payroll Analyst regarding Nonresident Alien (NRA) tax regulations in the analysis and support of People Soft/PPS transactions in partnership with the UCPath unit, departmental payroll offices and central offices. Provide Technical and Analytical support to Manager of GLACIER support. Coordinate and prepare training materials relating to nonresident tax compliance. Provide consultation services to department administrators on complex nonresident tax compliance regulations. Audit tax treaties and review all payroll transactions for nonresident employees. Advise and counsel department personnel, employees and students regarding acceptable documents for work authorization verifications as well as completion of w4, W2, 1042 and GLACIER forms. Represent the University in resolving tax problems and challenging rulings by the Internal Revenue Service Act as functional expert in IRS/USCIS regulations at training classes and tax seminars. Provide Technical and Analytical support to Manager of GLACIER support.

Qualifications

2+ years Experience in a financial environment such as payroll, accounting, audit or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Preferred)
- Skill in writing concise, logical, and grammatically correct business correspondence. (Required)

Demonstrated skill in reconciling and correcting complex payroll transactions. (Required)
