Job Summary:
Ensure customer quality requirements for press parts to reach internal / external goals and objectives. Conduct inspection activities to determine conformity to processes and products requirements at defined intervals
Primary tasks
- Check parts according to current checking instruction on press lines or assembly.
- F/M/L piece inspection for release and verification of assembly lines and ped weld or press run
- Offline surface inspection of assembly parts and ped weld or Class A press parts.
- Perform thinning checks for press parts.
- Perform all required dimensional checks on assembly parts or press parts.
- Perform all required surface checks for assembly parts.
- Check parts visually for process defects (e.g., weld splatters, sealer, weld point appearance, etc. for assembly parts)) or (e.g., splits, burrs, waviness, dents, scratches, lamination, dross, etc. for press line parts.)
- Create shift reports (scrap, rework, countermeasures for defects) and distribute to quality/production supervisor and managers related timelines and reports.
- Document inspection information into ATS for Press run and or Assembly.
- Train assembly operators and resp. line technicians or press line inspectors and resp. technical lead about part history before production.
Responsibilities:
- In situations of suspect and/or nonconformities within the assembly production notify resp. line technician, assembly operators and document issues.
- Place parts on blocked stock in case of nonconformities and reporting.
- Investigate internal/external customer complaints at the line, WIP, finished goods immediately and report findings to quality/production supervisor and managers.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment according 5S method.
- Document all quality issues in shift book and include in shift report.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (must be accredited);
- Minimum 1 years of experience in Manufacturing, Automotive industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO14001 Quality Management Systems documents.
- Excellent Process knowledge of the Press department, Tier 1 Automotive Supplier.
- PC basics.
- Knowledge of methods for surface evaluation (sanding, stoning, highlighting of surfaces);
- Material testing (tensile testing, thinning analysis, circle grid analysis, roughness testing, zinc coating and oil coating testing).
- Basic rework skills.
- Experience with ERP system (SAP) for booking of parts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of reading CMM reports.
- Excellent knowledge of process description for nonconforming parts and containment process.
