Responsibilities:
You responsible for overseeing, and monitoring all activities, duties and responsibilities of the Residential Advisors on assigned shift, and ensuring compliance with PRH requirements for the Residential Department.
- Supervises Residential Advisors and ensures that student needs are met in a timely professional manner.
- Provides monthly and weekly activity reports to Center Management, including the Social Development Director, Deputy Center Director, Center Director and Weekend Duty Officer.
- Prepares reports, budgets and objectives for the residential living component with the guidance of the Residential Living Manager.
- Ensures that order and discipline are maintained in dormitories, while promoting self discipline and an awareness of others by modeling, mentoring and monitoring staff and student behavior according to the Career Success Standards.
- Ensures orderly and clean living conditions are maintained in a timely and professional manner through delegation and participation with Residential staff.
- Oversees social skills and student leadership sessions, and provides guidance as appropriate.
- Assists students in handling special problems and conducts dormitory meetings, including collaboration with other departments when necessary to ensure that student issues and concerns are addressed and resolved in timely fashion.
- Ability to assist staff and students in conflict resolution practices and methodologies, in order to reach a reasonable and equitable solution to issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Postsecondary degree and two years experience working with youth and young adults.
Preferred: One to two years of Supervisory experience in a residential environment, as well as experience working with youth 16-24 years old.
Knowledge Required: Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to disadvantaged youths. Must be able to obtain a State driver’s license. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/1st Aid & AED certification. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to inspire and motivate staff, and model professional behaviors to set the standard for how students and staff should conduct themselves on a consistent basis.
