Summary: The Curiosity Crew Associate Lead supports the Museum Manager in the daily operations of the Museum and provides outstanding customer service to our visitors. This position works alongside the Curiosity Crew Associates (CCA) ensuring each visitor has a memorable experience. In the absence of the Museum Manager, this role will serve as the leader on duty.
Work Schedule and Conditions: Full-time hours Monday through Sunday. Schedules include evenings and holiday shifts. This position requires moving throughout the museum and being stationary for extended periods of time, reaching for objects, stooping and kneeling.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Exceling in the responsibilities and duties of the CCAs to include engaging with visitors, resetting exhibits, and facilitating educational programs.
- Remaining knowledgeable about operational procedures, museum policies and general museum information.
- Providing on-going training and coaching to enhance individual skills, behaviors, and processes.
- Modeling good customer service behaviors while encouraging others to do the same.
- Leading the Museum’s opening and closing activities to include door management, cash handling, daily deposits, and submitting reports in accordance with Finance guidelines.
- Monitoring safety, security, and emergencies, ensuring policies and procedures are followed and all incidents are documented.
- Supporting the daily operations of the museum, including admissions, gift shop, group visits, birthday parties, and facility rentals.
- Representing EdVenture in a professional manner when responding to questions and concerns of visitors, team members, and volunteers.
- Actively supervising the productivity of the CCAs.
- Performing other duties as assigned in support of the museum’s activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must genuinely like engaging with people. You’ll be working with kids and families.
- Two years of experience in guest services, education, or museum operations.
- Keen listener with ability to address guest concerns and de-escalate issues.
- Must have a commitment to diversity and work as a team player.
- Exhibit a positive and friendly demeanor and maintain a professional appearance.
- Management experience in a team-oriented workplace preferred.
- Must be reliable and can prioritize responsibilities.
- High School diploma, required.
