Consolidated Sterilizer Systems is a leading manufacturer of steam sterilization systems, providing solutions for life science customers for more than 70 years. We are seeking a Vice President of Sales & Service who will act as a player-coach to drive sales growth and market share in both life sciences and healthcare markets (Consolidated recently received FDA approval to sell its equipment to healthcare providers).
In this exciting role, you will drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction in both existing and new verticals. You will help lead our entry into the healthcare market by owning the go to market strategy and execution. We are seeking someone who is experienced in capital equipment sales, ideally with experience in the healthcare market.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute detailed sales strategies and tactics to drive revenue growth and achieve annual sale goals.
- Lead internal sales and service staff, providing them with vision, direction, and individual mentorship.
- Lead and collaborate with external sales and service agency partners, driving engagement and accountability around sales strategies and revenue goals.
- Develop and manage key account and strategic partner relationships with general contractors, distributors, architecture/engineering firms, GPOs, and IDNs.
- Drive a customer focused culture by championing continuous improvement efforts, fostering a collaborative team environment and always seeking successful outcomes for both the customer and the company.
- Develop, track and present KPIs for sales & service.
- Present Consolidated’s products in a professional and positive manner to key clients and sales opportunity stakeholders. Maintain/build our reputation in the marketplace. Attend trade shows as required.
- Help lead the effort and deliver upon our commitment to a customer-focused, highly-responsive and service-oriented organization
- Drive growth and lead our entry into the healthcare market.
- Manage CRM, forecast funnel, and overall sales process.
- Maintain and continue to develop, a superior knowledge of Consolidated’s products, their applications, and competitive offerings. Monitor competitor and industry activity and trends, and provide guidance to internal team to proactively approach challenges within the marketplace.
- Work with Marketing to promote our products, capabilities, and services.
A suitable candidate should have experience with the following:
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales growth and in leading sales teams.
- Strong history of success driving growth as a player-coach
- Strong ability to balance decisive delegation with independence, recognizing when direction is needed while allowing autonomy
- Developing, planning, and implementing short and long-range goals, analyzing progress, and acting proactively if results are not in line with anticipated progress
- Contributing to a positive and high performing team environment
- Managing independent sales reps
- Presenting in front of clients
- Demonstrating client service skills and the ability to develop strong business relationships through proactive problem-solving
Requirements:
- 10+ year sales and/or service experience in capital equipment sales within the healthcare market and/or life sciences markets.
- 4 year degree, MBA preferred
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in proactive management of sales & service teams
- Ability to quickly learn and understand our products
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide timely responses across several platforms—phones, email, zoom; elevated written and verbal skills that adapt appropriately to audience
- Must be able to interpret, define and document complex product specifications
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret client proposal requirements, RFPs and other project documents
- Must be able to develop and maintain strong sales and service partner relations
- Strong self-starter who is able to flex between working well independently or in a team setting
- Available to travel (approximately 25% of the time)
- Strong understanding of life science and medical equipment industry
- CRM management experience required. Salesforce required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
