Job Purpose:
The Revenue Cycle Senior Business Analyst supports Revenue Cycle Leadership (RCL) by providing routine and ad-hoc report extracts and data analysis to drive business performance. This role analyzes charges, collections, coding, and other transactional data to identify trends and research issues related to coding, reimbursement, billing, contracting, and overall processes. The analyst is responsible for summarizing complex data sets to draw meaningful business conclusions. Additionally, the analyst collaborates with RCL to develop dashboards that provide daily, weekly, and monthly snapshots of key performance indicators (KPIs) for each.
Essential Functions:
· Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in data management and organizational structures within business systems that influence the revenue cycle.
· Extract and format data from pertinent systems based on various business needs, ensuring credibility and relevance.
· Summarize data to draw meaningful business conclusions and research additional data as needed to substantiate results and identify improvement opportunities.
· Analyze data from multiple sources and provide conclusions and recommendations for process changes or performance improvements in revenue cycle or operational tasks.
· Handle periodic revenue cycle reports to help RCL monitor current operations, summarizing data as needed to provide context.
· Collaborate with RCL to develop dashboards that offer snapshots of KPIs, enabling timely action to mitigate issues and reallocate resources.
· Build relationships with key stakeholders, becoming an expert in multiple data sources, and create sustainable solutions for measuring revenue cycle processes.
· Conduct business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level, focusing on quality improvement and data management, ensuring data reliability and validity.
· Use data to facilitate workflow process improvements , and partner with internal and external customers to ensure workflows meet business needs.
· Identify and document business and systems requirements, assess process and system inefficiencies, and provide and support business solutions.
· Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT to gather business requirements for system modifications, enhancements, and implementations.
· Support system conversions, upgrades, and enhancements.
· Perform other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and other software tools (e.g., Alteryx, Python)
· Experience with large data sets and analytical data, including indices, fundamentals, and returns level data
· Experience managing large-scale projects and handling day-to-day operational requests
· Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Understanding of managed care contracts and fee schedules, including Medicare and Medicaid
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft programs (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
· 3+ years of experience in data analytics within a business environment
· Excellent relationship-building and communication skills

Preferred Skills
· 3-5 years of experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle Management
· Experience with software tools like Alteryx and Python for analyzing large data sets
· Knowledge of medical terminology
