Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in a K-8 setting.
- Collaborate with the teacher to execute engaging and educational lessons.
- Provide support and supervision to children in the classroom as well as cafeteria, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with classroom management, including behavior management and promoting positive social interactions.
- Work with individual students or small groups to provide additional support or instruction as needed.
- Help create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters the growth and development of each child.
- Collaborate with other staff members and parents to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of children, including those with special needs such as autism.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
