Physicians of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics is seeking a Spanish bilingual FULL-TIME medical assistant. Requirements include but are not limited to a High School Diploma or GED. Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant. The candidate must demonstrate strong clinical, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills. Preference will go to candidates willing to adapt to a fast paced environment with a steep learning curve.
DUTIES INCLUDE;
- Assist healthcare providers in delivering excellent patient care.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the medical office or clinic.
- Responsible for gathering a thorough medical history, including vitals.
- Responsible for scheduling lab testing, ordering required lab work for patients, contacting the patient regarding lab reviews, and updating the patient medical record information.
- Required to train and obtain identified certifications for medical practice equipment and devices.
- Responsible for assisting in procedures and the set-up of medical equipment.
- Refills medications as directed by the provider and coordinates prescriptions with the pharmacy.
- Assist with social media marketing.
PREFERRED SKILLS;
- EMR Familiarity with Athena, and Office Ally
- Coding: Familiarity with medical coding systems to accurately document patient encounters and procedures
- Vital signs: Proficient in measuring and recording vital signs accurately
- Physiology knowledge: Understanding of human anatomy and physiology to assist with patient care
- Basic life support: Certification in basic life support (BLS) to respond to medical emergencies
- Patient care: Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Hospital: Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
- Medication administration: Knowledge of medication administration techniques and safety protocols
- X-Ray: Familiarity with X-ray procedures and equipment for assisting with imaging studies
- Patient service: Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive patient experience
- Medical administrative support: Proficient in performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and handling insurance claims
