**Position Overview:**Administrative Assistant and Front Desk plays a crucial role in the efficient functioning of a surgicall facility. This role combines administrative and patient care responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills, office applications, and internet saavy.
**Qualifications:**
- High School with diploma or College degree preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.- Knowledge of medical terminology- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.- Attention to detail and accuracy.- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Administrative Duties:** - Greet patients and visitors, both in-person and over the phone, in a friendly and professional manner. - Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage the front desk area efficiently. - Maintain patient records and ensure they are accurate and up to date. - Verify insurance information and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries.
**Patient Coordination:** - Duties include but are not limited to booking patients for clinic and surgery appointments, coordinating and following up on laboratory and imaging tests, communicating with patients over telephone/email, record keeping and filing - Receives and processes requests for surgical procedures and coordinates with physicians. - Receiving visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately - Schedules appointments and booking times, determining priority by reviewing and evaluating patient information such as patient history, test results and pertinent reports, in consultation with other modalities and departments. - Ensures all required documentation is provided and prepares patient charts in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
**Communication:** - Act as a liaison between the patient, surgeon, and other medical staff. - Ensure clear and effective communication between all parties involved in the surgical process. - Provide information and support to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and scheduling
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a high standard of patient care. - Acting as a communication link; arranging for patient tests, entering diagnostic requisitions, and receiving results; assembling and maintaining patient charts.
**Project coordination** - As assigned by the executive leadership.
