Provides managerial and technical leadership to the AJA Engineering Team. Responsible for managing all of the company’s product development and testing activities. This includes working with the team to understand and evolve the development roadmap and translating business needs to technical requirements and manufacture-ready designs. Works closely with CEO/CTO, engineering department managers, and other functional leaders in the company to ensure the successful development, release and marketing of products/solutions.
Requirements:
- Plan, organize direct, and control all product engineering activities, including hands-on project management as required.
- Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
- Ensure implementation and refinement, as required, of formal processes to support the product development process.
- Develop, implement and ensure procedures for Cost Reduction, Design for Manufacturability and Design for Testability are successfully achieved.
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders, including the Product Management team, to help define and execute product plans.
- Ensure the availability and application of technical and engineering resources to provide on-time and on-budget completion of project deliverables.
- Ensure that products are fully and correctly defined and documented to ensure the successful execution of the company’s New Product Introduction process to achieve the successful transfer to production.
- Ensure that product development is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements.
- Identify key technical expertise and growth requirements of the engineering organization.
- Plan near-term and longer-term engineering structure and skills requirements in support of the company’s strategic plans.
- Coach, motivate, and mentor the engineering team while also contributing as a technical resource as needed, for all product development.
- Build team collaboration within the engineering organization and across other functional departments of the company to ensure continuous improvements of cross-functional organizational processes.
- Ensure the optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and/or customer requirements, per the product and/or marketing requirements documents.
- Stay informed and educated on current industry trends, ensuring the company maintains and expands its technology leadership position.
- Hire, direct, develop, and evaluate senior technical members, such as principal engineers and department managers.
- Be a positive and collaborative contributing member of the Executive management team.

Education and Experience:
- Requires BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years Engineering Management experience.
- Must have project management experience, including planning, budgeting and scheduling.
- Must have experience establishing relationships with customers.
- Must have experience managing both hardware and software engineers, as well as printed circuit designers and quality control engineers.
This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. The base salary for this position is $212,656 – 292,402. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience, education, training and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
