Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Analyst.
The Center for Opioid Epidemiology and Policy (COEP) in the Department of Population Health is seeking a Data Analyst to work on multiple Center research projects. The Center serves as central source of research on the United States rapidly shifting overdose in populations opioid overdose epidemic. COEP seeks to inform evidence-based policies to prevent opioid misuse, disorder and nationally and globally.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain regular communication with project team members. Assist with the development of grant applications for future funding.
- Innovate and streamline ways to visualize and analyze data.
- Contribute to the development of analytic plans in consultation with investigators; recommend solutions to analytical challenges.
- Prepare results of analyses for review. Participate in discussion and interpretation of findings. Lead and participate in manuscript development.
- Create text, tables, figures, and charts for presentations and publications. Prepare results of analyses for review.
- Carry out complicated, in-depth statistical analyses using primary and secondary data, including analyses for longitudinal studies and multi-level data structures, as well as claims data such as Medicaid.
- Manage set-up, data entry, and quality control in REDCAP databases of primary and secondary data.
- Map state and county data elements in a project GIS system, and characterize spatial typologies for statistical analyses.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters degree in epidemiology, data science, economics, public health or related quantitative field. Experience creating, managing and analyzing large databases of linked health data across multiple levels, including claims data. Experience with hypothesis-driven data analysis, including linear and logistic regression and non-parametric regression. Experience working in REDCAP to set up and maintain databases. Ability to gather, organize, analyze, and report findings from analyses. Ability to program proficiently in software such as SAS, R, or STATA. Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and alter priorities as circumstances require. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Knowledge and application of project management principles and concepts. Proven ability to design complex data management and analysis projects, working with professionals with a variety of skills and backgrounds.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $75,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
