Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Responsibilities:
- Assist hygienists with x-rays and cleaning and setting up the rooms
- Assist dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort of patients
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- X-ray certification required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in using dental software (Epic experience preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with medical coding and insurance billing processes
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Experience with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in dental assisting or related field including assisting in surgical procedures such as, dental implants, soft and hard tissue grafting etc
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques (CT scans, panoramic x-rays)
- Knowledge of medical records management
