We are seeking an enthusiastic Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to join our team in providing excellent dental care to our patients.
- 32-40 hours per week; Monday-Friday 8-5 or Tuesday-Friday 8-5
- Salary for Dental Assistants start at $24 per hour and Registered Dental Assistants start at $27 per hour

JOB SUMMARY
The Dental Assistant will perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, work chair-side as dentists examine and treat patients for dental procedures, and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
- Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment in adherence with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains conserves supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders for supplies verifying receipt of supplies.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of accredited Dental Assistant Training Program
- Current BLS certification
- CPR and other life skills training
- High School graduate or some college credits with emphasis in Dentistry
- At least 2 years of experience in clinical setting as Dental Assistant preferably in community clinic or public health environment. Spanish/Chinese speaking is preferred
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suites [Word/Excel/Outlook], EMR and electronic billing
- Demonstrate knowledge of dental health education subjects
- Ability to complete forms in an orderly and accurate fashion
- Able to use sound judgment, calm disposition and the ability to work easily with people
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends and participate in health fairs, etc.
