Summary
The role of a Wellness Advisor with WellWay is to support, advise, and coach clients to achieve optimal health by providing ongoing nutrition and lifestyle coaching for their clients, as well as providing recommendations to additional resources at WellWay that support the client in reaching and maintaining optimal health. As a key member of an integrated care team, the coach will be a trusted partner in a client’s care. Whether they are working with a client to improve energy, balance hormones, lose weight and body fat, or optimize their current health and fitness, they will partner with an integrated team to ensure that the client has all the resources needed to live their best life.
Responsibilities
- Effectively gather and interpret the client’s intake forms and partner to develop a customized “roadmap” for each client based on their goals, health history, current habits, and readiness to change.
- Collaborate with the WellWay team, personal trainers, Chief Medical Advisor, assessment technicians, and the other coaches on the team.
- Provide 1:1 coaching sessions (virtually or in-person) to discuss progress towards outcome goals, provide relevant and impactful education, and set realistic behavior goals.
- Provide ongoing virtual coaching for the client – including, but not limited to accountability check ins, providing educational resources for the client, goal modification between coaching sessions, and answering health related questions as they arise from clients.
- Use motivational interviewing strategies to support the client in building self-efficacy, developing and overcoming discrepancies, and creating realistic behavior-based goals.
- Support the client in using coaching technology (mobile and desktop) to set goals and track progress.
- Consider the client’s readiness to change to appropriately support client in goal setting.
- Support the client by collecting appropriate measurements throughout the coaching progress, interpret measurements and progress, and make modifications to the client’s goals as needed to help the client see continued progress.
- Connect clients to ongoing coaching services through a variety of channels, including consultations, educational seminars, etc., using effective sales and engagement strategies where appropriate.
- Make expert recommendations to the client in the areas of lab testing and supplementation.
- Deliver excellent customer service during all interactions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of patient information (HIPAA), confidential staff discussions, and clinical business)
Qualifications:
- Health Coach Certification (preferred)
- Registered and Licensed Dietitian (required)
- 2+ years of coaching and/or nutrition counseling experience (preferred)
- Experience and/or enthusiasm for pre, during and postnatal care for expectant mothers (not required)
Skills
- Strong coaching skills and use of coaching techniques (i.e., motivational interviewing, developing discrepancies, rolling with resistance, goal setting, health vision creation, etc.)
- Experience and/or enthusiasm for pre, during and postnatal care for expectant mothers (not required)
- Ability to effectively work on a team of integrated professionals.
- Ability to take thorough and detailed chart notes during all client interactions.
- Ability to read, write legibly, and comprehend the written and spoken word in English.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new software programs required.
- Strong interpersonal communication with clients, families, physicians, and co-workers

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
