SquareCare Montessori Preschool has an opening for an assistant teacher in our preschool childcare program. We are seeking a warm and caring individual to join our team, assisting young children to gain social and emotional skills, independence, and academic skills, and assisting teachers to prepare the learning environment.
We prefer a teacher-qualified person for this position, the successful candidate will:
- show self-initiative,
- show respect for children and co-workers,
- show an ability to guide children
- have a strong work ethic.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- have, or be able to get criminal background clearance
- Have an interest in learning the Montessori philosophy of education
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma.
- Early Childhood Education units (6 core or more) preferred
- Complies with all state education and licensing standards and maintains validation of credentials for the position (i.e. professional development).

This is a fantastic, opportunity for a candidate interested in developing their skills as a Montessori preschool teacher! A candidate with no early childhood education or experience can expect to earn minimum wage. Wages increase with early childhood education units, childcare experience, and Montessori training or experience.
Job description
-Develop a classroom atmosphere that encourages independence, exploration, and a love for learning.
Individualized Instruction:
Observe and assess students' abilities and interests to tailor instruction and materials accordingly.
Facilitate individual and small-group lessons, ensuring personalized learning experiences.
Classroom Management:
Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom culture where students learn to collaborate and resolve conflicts.
Maintain discipline using positive reinforcement and redirection techniques.
Parent Communication:
Establish open and effective communication with parents to provide updates on student progress and development.
Professional Development:
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Caring for infants and toddlers:
Guide Montessori work cycle
Diaper changing /potty training
Bottle feeding /nap schedule
Preparing snacks and assisting with lunch
Washing all dishes, drying and putting away ( we use dishwasher)
Wiping tables, and chairs and sweeping after meals
Sanitize toys and surfaces weekly
Clean and mop the bathroom daily (during nap time)
Put sheets on cribs and wash linens weekly
Clean and mop the kitchen weekly
Empty trash and recyclables and diaper pail daily in outside trash containers.
Updating children daily records on the Transparent Classroom app
