US Farathane is seeking a Controls Automation Engineer at our Facility in Auburn Hills, MI who can troubleshoot, root cause and correct plant issues to include automation, robots, and maintenance and can effectively communicate findings and train others in the repairs as such.

Summary:
Automation Engineer will support factory operations utilizing various design, engineering, and management skills to capture automation opportunities at the division plant(s).
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing suppliers to ensure cost and delivery goals are maintained.
- Provide assembly support during the build process.
- Develop, test and implement software for various types of systems and equipment.
- Provide support for equipment installation, start-up and debug.
- Troubleshoot, repair or upgrade existing equipment.
- Identify, understand and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Manage various automation/equipment projects as required. Includes, but not limited to preparation of project descriptions and
- specifications, collection and review of quotations, selection of contractors/vendors, and coordination of contractor/vendor
- activities.
- Improve reliability and performance of production equipment and implement resultant changes.
- Experience working on projects for suppliers to the major automotive companies.
- Experience doing concepts for automation systems.
- Experience processing different automated assembly methods.
- All other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:

- Minimum of three years experience in the development and implementation of automation, electrical design, programming, schematics, control system integration and troubleshooting of automated machinery.
- AutoCAD schematic drawing or electrical package experience
- PLC/HMI programming experience, Rockwell preferred.
- Experience with vision systems. Cognex, Keyence & Dalsa preferred.
- Ability to interpret electrical and pneumatic diagrams.
- Proficient in MS Office products
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Experience with mechanical building preferred but not required.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Results oriented and innovative.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as multiplication and division, work with mathematical tools within an electronic spreadsheet for further business case assessments.
