College Living Experience (CLE) is growing! We are opening a brand new center in San Diego (Miramar College area) and are looking for our founding full-time Independent Living Skills Coordinator/ Resident Advisor to supervise ILS supports and programming for our students. THIS ROLE REQUIRES LIVING ON-SITE IN THE SAME APARTMENT COMPLEX AS OUR STUDENTS. CLE provides post-secondary academic, career development, social, and independent living skills supports to young adults with Autism, LD, ADHD, or other diagnoses. Total compensation is $50,000 (apartment and salary) annually.

The ILS Coordinator/Resident Advisor:
- Lives on site in the same apartment complex as the students in order to be available for infrequent emergencies.
- Supervises, coordinates, and facilitates, Independent Living Skills Instruction including, meal planning and preparation, household cleaning and organization, financial instruction, and self-care.
- Provides instruction, consultation, and coaching to students in life skills, conflict resolution, self-monitoring, and time management.
- Serves as an advisor to designated students which includes but is not limited to: weekly coaching sessions, serving as a liaison to student’s family and funding sources, reads and releases student session notes, prepares reports and attends meetings as needed.
- Collaborates with other staff in a timely manner to ensure student needs are efficiently problem solved for their ongoing safety and development.
- Assists students in their medication routine and may assist in refilling prescriptions, per programming needs identified by CLE team.
- Completes CLE student progress inventories and reviews team member inventories for accuracy and timely completion.
- Supervises ILS staff which includes, but is not limited to: hiring, completion of performance appraisals, review and/or correction of progress notes, and ongoing coaching to improve and enhance quality of instruction.
- Holds weekly ILS team meetings to address program needs, problem solve and oversee team development.
- Facilitates student transportation needs, as required, to assure means of transport is available for social and recreational activities, dining, shopping, medical emergencies or appointments, etc. Promotes the use of public transportation systems when possible. Ensures all instructors have Mobility Trainer bus passes.
- Initiates contact with the Director to consult and address questions or concerns that are atypical and need additional team problem solving.
- Monitor safety of students and property which includes check-ins with students on a scheduled or as needed basis, evaluating any atypical events, and determining necessary actions to address or resolve the issue. This requires interaction with students with respect to emergencies, as well as general questions and roommate issues. This may include periodic apartment and wellness checks.
- Remain on-call for rare student emergencies after hours.
- Provides timely and accurate documentation through written student progress notes and other reports as required.
