The Role:
The Lead Infusion Nurse at Kuya plays a key role in maintaining a level of excellence in services and medical care, overseeing protocols for all nursing staff. As the lead nurse, you’ll work closely with management and Kuya’s medical director to ensure safe medical practices by nursing staff, acting as the point person for all IV-related needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and monitor IV infusions, ensuring proper flow rates and patient safety.
- Track and monitor adverse reactions alongside staffed RN, initiating appropriate response.
- Accurately document patient assessments, IV placements, medications, vitals, and any complications.
- Ensure that patient records are up-to-date and comply with regulatory standards.
- Provide continued education for nursing staff, ensuring consistency and alignment of procedures.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to minimize the risk of complications.
- Participate in and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives related to IV therapy.
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices, guidelines, and advancements in IV therapy.
- Develop and manage nursing schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Support in the hiring, onboarding, and training process for new nursing staff.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and company standards.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- 2+ years of experience in IV therapy (preferred)
- Strong knowledge and experience in aseptic technique and occupational health
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
