Account Manager (Entry Level) – Addison, IL
$60,000 - $80,000/Annually + Commission
We are a leading distributor seeking an Account Manager to provide professional, quality customer service to new and existing customers. We continue to experience record growth, so this is an expansion position.
The Account Manager will be responsible for listening to our clients’ needs, understanding timelines, verifying orders, checking on status and fielding questions. Potential applicants must have excellent communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced department.
Essential job functions of the Account Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of our product line to better aid with customer selection
- Respond to customer calls and emails providing them with the right answers to positively impact their buying experience from us
- Build strong relationships with accounts by proactively assessing, clarifying, and validating customer needs on an ongoing basis
- Evaluate all data shown on customer orders, verifying inventory, price quotes, logistics, and update ship dates
- Manage base of accounts and prepare sales reports
- Network with key accounts and address specific needs and opportunities
- Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve all order issues
- Participate and assist in strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones
- Assist in special projects when necessary
Account Manager Experience Requirements:
- No experience required, looking for someone ready to get their corporate experience started. We will train in all functions.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply! Engineering degrees are highly preferred, but candidates from all backgrounds are welcome.
- Must have a mechanical/technical mindset. If you enjoy working with cars, DIY projects, or fixing things, this role could be a great fit. You'll guide customers through products and their best uses without needing to physically handle them.
- Strong communicator with demonstrated phone skills and etiquette
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
