Since 1985, Julienne Fine Foods and Celebrations continues to be a local San Marino and Pasadena neighborhood destination for dining, prepared foods and seasonal gifting. A significant part of the business is catering sales for everyday and the many holidays throughout the year.
JOB TYPE: FULL-TIME (up to 40 hours weekly) and PART TIME (24-29 hours weekly) roles available
JOB OVERVIEW AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Manage the Order Desk on the sales floor to best serve customers.
- Take ownership of orders and the customer experience.
- Assist customers through the menu planning process via phone, email, in-person requests in a timely, patient and helpful way. Product knowledge and customer engagement is key.
- Manage the order process from initial inquiry, to creating a catering quote, following up, and to signed contract. Organization, time-management, and attention to detail are required.
- Coordinate pre-order and holilday operations with the Kitchen Manager.
- Ring up customer purchases throughout the day. Assist behind the deli case, espresso bar and sales floor as needed, especially for break coverage.
- Maintain a positive, pleasant and helpful demeanor with customers, kitchen, and packaging teams to ensure seamless processing and timely fullfillment.
- Data Entry of Holiday Menus into Tock and Toast POS, as needed. Double check Toast/ Tock for correct / consistent pricing with printed menu and website.
- Maintain promotion / marketing materials. Print menus for customer access.
- Provide quotes and contracts to customer, then provide follow up paperwork to all parties: Customer, Kitchen Manager, Special Events Supervisor and Owner. This position serves as the point person for most private events.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available to work on peak days per company Black-Out Calendar.
- Must be detailed, organized, sales oriented and able to meet the challenges of our peak sales days.
- Master our computer systems and applications: Toast POS system, Tock reservation and order system; Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Sharepoint, To-Do, Calendar; Slack.
- Ability to work in a "customer-first" environment - engaging with customers in a cheerful, confident, and organized manner.
- Ability to multi-task and work as a team in an accurate and timely manner.
- Be self-motivated, ready to learn.
- Be polite and considerate to customers and colleagues alike; anticipate and be proactive.
- Report to work on time and adhere to the Break Schedule.
- Ability to efficiently work, clean, restock, organize during the down time, and at the end of the shift.
- Maintain Health Department standards for the department.
- Maintain a clutter free, visually clean work area.
- Written and verbal communication skills must be of proper English, spelling, grammar, and appropriate tone.
- Follow all company guidelines and protocols, including uniform policy and schedules.
- Ability to stand for up to 5 -8 hours; lift to 15 pounds.
- And other duties as assigned by management.
- Current Serv-Saf Certificate Required
