Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis I – Client and Product Profitability – Enterprise / GCM Lead

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis I to join our Client & Product Profitability (CPP) team within the Finance organization. This role is located in New York, NY - HYBRID.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Deliver financial analytics and reporting in support of enterprise client profitability for end users such as Global Client Management (GCM), Chief Commercial Control Office, Executive Committee, etc.
- Provide assistance in addressing new reporting needs from end users of CPP’s enterprise-wide dashboards.
- Perform data quality checks and reconciliations against underlying LOB data to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with the identification of different expense allocation methodologies across LOB’s and help drive a solution that brings consistency to the enterprise view.
- Effectively collaborate with GCM and other key enterprise-wide users of CPP, colleagues across the broader CPP team, and Engineering to understand business needs and design effective, scalable solutions.
- Assist with managing project tasks, timelines, risks, and issues for key CPP projects impacting enterprise initiatives.
- Contribute to the overall achievement of common objectives for the CPP team.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a financial discipline such as accounting, finance, statistics, or economics
- 5-7 years of total work experience in finance at a bank or other financial institution
- Understanding of financial statements and key concepts regarding profitability is required.
- Experience with Activity Based Costing is preferred.
- Knowledge of BNYM’s Businesses and Products/Services offered to clients is a plus.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and strong intellectual curiosity
- Demonstrated history of problem solving and business partnering skills.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing demands.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Knowledgeable on BI reporting tools like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau etc.
- Understanding of SQL skills and/or exposure to underlying modeling tools (SAS CPM or equivalent tool, Hadoop/Spark, Oracle SQL, Snowflake) is a plus.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $66,000 and $147,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
