You will be joining a multi-faceted, diverse group of designers who are delivering major project designs through a collaborative effort. Essential Functions:
- Prepares technical reports, engineering designs, and construction or process specifications to ensure projects conform to departmental requirements and city, state and federal regulations.
- Communicates with project manager and other team members to coordinate activities and provide information about projects.
- Assists in developing scope of work (i.e., tasks and milestones) and project budget to forecast construction schedules and establish design activities to optimize and enhance work deliverables.
- Under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer or other project manager, modifies and develops engineering plans and finds engineering solutions for project problems.
- Produces project records for use by client and department.
- Drafts and produces engineering drawings from field data, sketches, drawings, raw data, diagrams and verbal/written narrative instructions; performs design calculations for projects.
- Seeks guidance in prioritizing project tasks and assignments; cross-trains with staff; monitors own individual work and evaluates performance; adheres to policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Studies construction plans for compliance with the local, state, and or federal design standards, guidelines and standards.
- Assists in performing and preparing technical studies and reports.
- Assist other engineers and CADD technician staff in technical work direction, as needed.
