JOB TITLE: Senior Staff Accountant

Sports Academy is seeking a full-time experienced Senior Staff Accountant. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in various accounting tasks to support the financial operations of the organization. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Record and reconcile daily transactions in the general ledger.
· Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and other transactions.
· Record banking transactions and reconcile bank statements.
· Record sales and deferred revenue.
· Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
· Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
· Maintain and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable payments.
· Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during audits.
· Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
· Maintain documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
· Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
