Job Title: Assistant Supervisor, Dental Assistants

Summary: Primary function (responsibility), under the supervision of the DA Supervisor and Clinical Manager, is to assist with the management of DA Supervisor’s Direct Reports, including but not limited to monitoring efficiency and effectiveness of employee performance and attendance, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations, and delegating tasks. Additional functions will include and not be limited to: data entry in the electronic dental record, reports, and administrative tasks related to patient care and standard operations. DA Assistant Supervisor is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Dental Center and the Funds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs all duties as assigned by Dental Assistant Supervisor and any other senior Dental Management Team Member.

Address work related problems of the Dental Assistants.

Manage processing and progress of laboratory cases.

Monitors infection control, HIPAA, CDC, and OSHA compliance and reports issues of compliance to DA Supervisor and/or Clinical Manager and assists in rectification of any non-compliant practices.

Assists in monitoring the maintenance and proper operation of Dental Center equipment.

Assists in the evaluation and review of job performance, and the development of training for necessary improvements, communicate any areas needing improvement or discipline required to DA Supervisor and/or Clinical Manager as necessary.

Communicates all relevant information affecting patient care or impacting operations to DA Supervisor, Clinical Manager, and other supervisors/managers as necessary.

Assists with the management and dispensing of dental materials and supplies.

Assume all the duties of a Dental Assistant or other auxillary personnel as directed.

Participate in all departmental improvement initiatives

Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience

Certificate of completion from an accredited Dental Assistant School

Outstanding work ethic and employment record (including attendance and punctuality)

Computer skills must include Word, Excel, type 40 wpm.
Language Skills: Speak, read, write and understand English, Bilingual preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certificate of completion from an accredited Dental Assistant School
