Job Title: Enrichment Teacher
Reports To: Center Director / Education Director
Job Summary
Plans and implements the daily Enrichment activities for children. Practice and Models Conscious Discipline in the
classroom. Oversees and coordinates the children’s personal care, hygiene, learning activities, specialized programs, and
positive guidance. Maintains classroom records. Ensures that the classroom and other play areas are consistently clean
and safe. Supervises and directs activities of the assistant teacher assigned to the classroom. Keeps the director informed
on a timely basis of pertinent issues regarding staff, children, families, and the program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Understands and complies with Ivy Kids Brand Standards and Texas Minimum Standards.
Education and Curriculum
● Plans and implements Science and Spanish curriculum activities and lesson plans as per Ivy Kids Standards.
● Uses positive guidance techniques consistent with state regulations, and counsels children when social,
academic, or adjustment problems arise. Practice, models, and promotes Conscious Discipline.
● Establishes developmentally appropriate room arrangement, décor, and learning environment in the classroom
promoting Enrichment and Conscious Discipline.
● Ensures that a daily schedule is posted for parents. Maintains classroom bulletin boards.
● Has strong working knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards as they pertain to center operations.
● Assist with organizing center events such as holiday programs, Spanish programs, international festivals, etc.
● Meets with the Education Director monthly to ensure all resources and planning are in place for the following
month. Runs any substitution activities by the ED.
● Ensure supply lists are submitted on time and classroom inventory is adequate at all times and related to the
curriculum monthly themes.
● Take precautions with technology and follow screen time minimum standards.
Interactions with Parents, Staff, and Director
● Communicates appropriately with potential and current families.
● Establishes and maintains primary caregiver groups (ratios).
● Observes, records, and reports to the Director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely
affect the quality of care provided.
● Actively participates in center events, staff training sessions, meetings, and programs.
● Immediately notifies the Director of needed repairs to the building, play area, equipment, or toys throughout the
facility. Ensures that children are not exposed to equipment or situations that could affect their health or safety.
● Accepts feedback from peers and the management team.
● Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled staff is not available. This includes but is
not limited to answering the phones, cooking, assisting in the classrooms, etc.
● Maybe required to work after hours or weekends for center events, trainings, etc.
● Maybe required to come in early or stay late as per center’s needs.
Health and Safety
● Maintains active supervision of children and classroom management
● Implements appropriate emergency procedures in the event of a fire, tornado, chemical leak, or other
emergencies.
● Report maintenance needs to the Center Director.
● Maintains ratios at all times.
● Administers CPR/First Aid or other appropriate emergency procedures in the event of serious student accidents
or emergencies. Knows and takes universal precautions.
● Properly maintains educational materials and equipment; ensures that children are appropriately using the
equipment.
● Keeps classroom and other play areas safe, neat, and clean.
● Follows all Ivy Kids Critical Procedures.
● Maintains cleanliness and follows a 4-step sanitation process and cleaning checklist.
● Is aware of children’s allergies.
● Ensure incident reports are completed if needed.
● May need to transport children to and from school and field trip venue. (14 passenger bus)
General
● Understand and adhere to Ivy Kids Personnel Policies
● Ensure proper dress code at all times.
● Be regular in your attendance at work.
● Attend staff meetings and trainings.
Qualifications
● Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience. Must have at least 2 years
of experience working in early education.
● One or more years experience working with children in a childcare center
● Knowledge of Texas DFPS Minimum Standards
● High school diploma or equivalent
● High energy and self-motivated individual
● Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50 pounds
depending on the age and weight of the child.
● Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents.
● Must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
