Position Description: Pharmacy Technician
Good Samaritan Health & Wellness Center is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Technician. Hours are 9am to 6:00pm Monday thru Friday.
Reports to: Pharmacy Director
Duties:
- Assists with taking messages from the Prescription Refill line;
- Checks availability of refills for patient calling for refill in the Pharmacy software;
- Checks on-hand amounts of the medications to be filled and selecting the appropriate NDC;
- Prints labels for medications to be filled;
- Pulls medications from shelves;
- Counts amounts to be dispensed and pours medications into appropriate size vials;
- Labels vials with main label and relevant warning labels;
- Presents prepared filled prescriptions for Pharmacist to check;
- When requested by the pharmacist, processes new prescriptions from the queue (in pharmacy software);
- When patients come to window, pulls prepared prescriptions and processes the sale;
- Periodically goes through filled bags of prescriptions and pulls all that are two weeks old or older;
- Reverses fills in software and returns medications to inventory in software;
- Pulls expired or soon to be expired bottles of medications from shelves;
- Removes expired medications from inventory in software;
- When orders are delivered, adds items to inventory and prints reports for Pharmacist to check;
- Other duties as assigned by the pharmacist.
Qualifications:
- At least a high school diploma.
- Licensed by the State of Georgia. (can be applied for upon hire)
- Able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Ability to spend long hours on one’s feet.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience with use of computers.
