In this high growth role, you will manage and direct defined aspects of the client’s fleet operations. You will lead and inspire a team of vehicle technicians tasked with maintaining and repairing a growing fleet of self-driving taxis. You will set and achieve operational objectives, while controlling costs and developing a high-performing team. Above all, you will be responsible for ensuring the team is completing repairs according to our client’s service expectations, while working alongside other AutoNation teammates in a positive, innovative work environment.

Establishing work priorities and tracking key performance indicators to measure the success of fleet maintenance operations, while implementing data-driven strategies to continually get better.

Building, leading and developing a team of vehicle technicians, including hiring, mentoring, scheduling, and training, as well as offering promotion, discipline, and termination recommendations.

Collaborating with client leadership to align on operational goals and strategies, and act as a key liaison between the client and AutoNation. This includes providing recommendations for improving the maintenance and administration of their fleet of self-driving taxis.

Ensuring all work orders are closed accurately and in a timely manner while adhering to SOPs and all AutoNation and client company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Maintaining reporting systems required by AutoNation and the client and participating in or leading regular meetings to provide updates on performance.

Establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with vocational and technical schools to enhance recruitment activities.

Understanding and complying with federal, state, and local regulations that affect fleet maintenance and repair operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know act, EV safety, and so on.

A minimum of 3 years in vehicle repair at an automotive service center or as a fleet operator.

Experience managing a team of 10 or more vehicle technicians, with varying levels of skill and training.

Demonstrated ability to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly operational targets.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while juggling competing priorities and tasks.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Comfortable using fleet or dealer management software such as Fleetio or CDK (or equivalent software).

Bachelor’s degree.

ASE certification.

Electric or autonomous vehicle maintenance experience.

Familiarity with Google suite of office products such as Gmail, chat, and video conferencing.
