Basic Function
To provide Behavior Intervention Implementation by following a Behavior Treatment Plan and Behavior Intervention Plan designed by a Case Manager.
Job Description
- Provide for the direct implementation of applied behavior analysis (ABA) interventions.
- Address problematic behaviors in accordance with Positive Behavior Support Techniques.
- Utilize Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention (NCPI) approved procedures to de-escalate problem behaviors and ensure safety during crisis situations.
- Track data for skill acquisition and problem behaviors on a daily basis.
- Document daily in the LAUSD Welligent System. Progress notes must be goal oriented and show client progress utilizing statistical data (i.e. percentage).
- Utilize the behavior and treatment plan developed by the case manager. You may not deviate or make any changes to the plans. Only your case manager may modify the behavior plan.
- Communication regarding client progress (to parents) should be directed to the case manager. Behavioral Interventionist may not communicate progress to parents.
- Notify the Administrative Supervisor and case manager anytime your client does not attend a scheduled session.
- Attend mandatory trainings in the office.
- Email time sheets every Friday and every pay period end date: 15th and the last working day of the month, no later than 5:00 pm.
- Time sheets must be initial daily by teacher, and original time sheets must be submitted to the office by mail or in person, by the 5th day of the following month.
- Mandated reporting of any suspected child abuse or neglect must be made to DCFS.
- Other duties as assigned.

Skills
Must have excellent communication at all times with your supervisors. You must be well organized and be able to meet deadlines. You must maintain a strict professional relationship with all staff, schools, parents and supervisors.
Education
- Bachelor Degree in ABA, Education, Psychology, Child Development, or in a related field, is desired.
Experience
- At least one year of experience with autism spectrum disorders, and/or children with special needs, is desired
- At least one year of experience with positive behavior supports and/or ABA interventions, is desired.
