The Global Tax Director is a trusted advisor to executive management, providing guidance on tax consequences of business decisions and developing tax optimization strategies. The Global Tax Director is responsible for completion of federal, international, and local income tax returns including all related analysis and support. This position has oversight of the tax returns for all of the Company’s operations, including its international operations. Responsible for audits of all foreign, federal, state and local tax filings. Oversees transfer pricing and management fee arrangements. The Global Tax Director acts as a liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues. Responsible for tax provision and book/tax accounting and reconciliations. Ensures that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes. Operates as departmental liaison with IT staff on all technical matters relating to tax applications. The Global Tax Director assists the CEO and CFO with tax planning issues as required.

Drive tax strategy and optimization positions.

Manage the delivery of tax services by the Company’s third-party tax service providers, including oversight of service delivery quality and budget management.

Lead the global tax planning process, including assessing the impact of recent acquisitions and legal entity rationalization.

Oversight of the global tax compliance process, ensuring all returns are filed timely through effective management of tax service providers.

Assess existing global intercompany relationships to determine transfer pricing requirements and proper structure, including documentation of intercompany agreements.

Work closely with business unit leadership, sales and operations teams to assess new product offerings and potential tax implications.

Work with FP&A to forecast the global ETR, cash taxes and impacts of potential business activities.

Analyze and document ASC 740-10 (FIN48)/IFRIC 23 and FAS 5 reserves.

Research, analyze, and implement the impacts of accounting standard changes and tax law developments.

Analyze tax accounting and reporting requirements for business combinations, debt and equity offerings and other major corporate transactions.

Manage domestic and foreign income tax audits and inquiries by governmental authorities in addition to maintaining concurrent, audit-ready workpapers and financial records for all filings.

Identify and mitigate company risks and communicate areas of potential exposure to management.

Ensure compliance with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) requirements, suggesting improvements and changes as needed.

Support the Global Controller and CFO in the quarterly and annual review of the global tax provision and ETR, including analysis as needed.

This individual will manage a team of tax professionals, reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer.
Education:

Bachlor’s degree in accounting is required. Master’s degree with a focus in tax accounting is strongly preferred.
Experience:

Minimum 10 years of combined public accounting and corporate tax department experience within a global company.

CPA license is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and tax law within the US, the United Kingdom and the EU.

Knowledge of indirect taxes including sales and use tax and VAT.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of management and cross functional teams.
