Responsible for teaching courses for the associate degree in Automation and Systems Integration program, specializing in the Electronics Technology track with emphasis in Robotics courses and academic program management of the certificate programs in Electronics Technology and Biomedical Electronics Technology. Responsibilities including staffing to support these programs. Responsible for maintenance of the instructional laboratories in compliance with OSHA standards. Assist the Technical Programs Department Chair and Dean in meeting Northark's Strategic Plan initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Preparation for lectures and labs and instruction of students in both lecture and lab settings.
2. Curriculum development, selection, implementation, and evaluation for program.
3. Selection and coordination of advisory board committees and meetings. This duty is performed monthly.
4. Annual program assessments and periodic program reviews as required by Northark/ADHE.
5. *****Maintaining accreditation guidelines.
6. **** Developing and maintaining close relationships with local industry and business organizations
7. Collaboration between all Technical Programs to meet Strategic Plan initiatives.
8. Selection and supervision of adjunct instructors within the Automation and Systems Integration program area.
9. Selection and supervision of part-time hourly personnel.
10. Inventory control, procurement and distribution of supplies needed to support program.
11. Reconciliation and management of Purchase Card/Travel Card transactions.
12. Submission and coordination of operating budget for Automation and Systems Integration program.
13. Participation in Northark committees and academic affairs.
14. Support the Northark Technical Center and Office of Skills Development special initiatives.
15. Actively support SkillsUSA student organization.
16. Review capital and institutional needs annually for program needs and submit to upper administration.
17. Maintain all equipment in safe operating order in compliance with OSHA standards.
18. Student advising for Automation and Systems Integration and Electronics Technology programs.
19. Presentations to recruit students, both internal and external.
20. Maintain Instructor certification for FANUC Authorized Satellite Training (F.A.S.T.) Center program.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Five year technical degree (I.E. bachelors) or equivalent experience required. In such fields such as engineering, science, computer engineering, robotics, electronics, manufacturing etc, plus 9 to 10 years related experience and/or training, and 4 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
