Description:
The Logistics Coordinator will coordinate the movement of domestic, import and export shipments. Position demands an energetic, well-organized individual who is adaptable to changing assignments and priorities, works well under pressure and prefers a fast pace.
Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare all necessary shipment documentation, such as: Bill of Ladings, Work Orders, and Packing Lists, Custom Invoices

Monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring customer satisfaction

Update and maintain data bases containing tracking information

Maintain carrier insurance and rates

Review freight bills for accuracy

Working knowledge of departmental, commercial and operating systems.

Shipment scheduling and follow up.

Shipment coordination between physical moves and accurate/timely system recording. System recording including shipment notice and weight
Requirements:

Education/Experience

High School Graduate / bachelor’s degree preferred

Importing and Exporting experience a plus

Nonferrous industry experience desired
Physical Requirements

Office Environment. Utilizing an office desk-sitting, reading, listening or speaking with the ability to move intermittently throughout the day

Strong sensory skills, such as good eyesight, good hearing and dexterity

Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and phones

Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
