The South Carolina chapter of The Nature Conservancy (TNC-SC) is seeking an individual who is organized, driven, creative and loves the outdoors to fill the role of Philanthropy Operations Manager (POM). This position will be located out of the TNC Mt. Pleasant office with the option to work from home 1-2 days per week. The POM will report to the Deputy Director of Philanthropy and will manage gift coding and other critical operational functions in the development program. The POM will also provide support to the philanthropy team in the areas of event management, donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Be a super-user of the systems and processes. The POM will become an expert user of our fundraising systems including our Blackbaud donor database, nature.org web platform Engaging Networks, MailChimp and Excel. The POM will be experienced with data entry, running reports, analyzing and interpreting data and will learn and adhere to TNC’s policies and procedures.
Provide a positive giving experience to donors. The POM will manage gift processing and acknowledgements, coordinate mailings and field donor gift inquiries – supporting the important act of saying “thank you” to our donors.
Create memorable donor experiences. The POM will have an eye for detail and will plan and organize donor field trips and events such as kayak trips, hikes, and cocktail parties from the Lowcountry to the Upstate; occasional overnight and day travel will be required.
Be able to work independently and within a team. The POM will be self-motivated to manage their own priorities yet work collaboratively in a team environment.
Take initiative. The POM will be proactive in identifying opportunities and potential improvements to increase team efficiency, effectiveness and organization.
Collaborate across departments. The POM will work across teams within TNC-SC and with the Board of Trustees to support fundraising efforts and build relationships with peers within the larger TNC network.
Coordinate projects. The POM is a critical position on the philanthropy team who will work on a variety of projects with multiple variables. The ability to prioritize competing deadlines, work within a defined timeframe and budget will be essential.
