Administrative Assistant
First Baptist Church of Norwich
Permanent part-time position working Thursdays and Fridays from 9 AM to 1 PM, (flexible)
$20 per hour, no benefits
The ideal candidate for this position is an organized effective communicator with strong computer and interpersonal skills. Prior experience or knowledge of church office functions welcomed.
Responsibilities
· Performall assigned administrative and secretarial tasks in the office
· Provide administrative support to church members and officers as needed
· Serve as the point of contact for members and visitors as needed
· Create and publish monthly newsletters, weekly bulletins, and annual reports
· Organize, file, and archive printed and computer-generated documents
· Maintain an inventory and order office supplies
· Receive and respond to daily emails utilizing Gmail
· Maintain a central calendar of events on Google Calendar
· Update the church website
· Process church mailings and maintain contact lists
Qualifications
· Ability to be a contributing team member
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word and Excel
· Strong computer knowledge and problem-solving skills
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
