The Industrial Engineer/Project Manager– Specialty Cleaning Services & Industrial Services handles the entire proceedings of the Quala Rail and Specialty Division's environmental & industrial projects and strikes the perfect balance between organizational profitability and environmental health. Industrial railcar cleaning and waste disposal projects require expertise in understanding chemical cleaning processes and can write an implement chemical cleaning procedures. Some of the environmental safety projects include wastewater treatment, hazardous material cleaning, permit review, project profitability, disposal options and outlets, and review of annual and quarterly reports. (Both environmental and financial).
This is an onsite working Project Manager position. Expect to be in the terminal actively working with the cleaning technicians, reviewing chemical cleaning procedures, managing chemicals and chemical waste, and maintaining general oversight of safety procedures including confined space entry.
Our ideal candidate will have experience writing and implementing chemical cleaning procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate implement and/or change cleaning procedures in conjunction with the Chemistry team for maximum safety and environmental performance. Ensure that these procedures are being followed at the specialty bays and rail racks.
- Managing other procedures of industrial project handling, preparing budget and financial reports as per the organizational guidelines, and keeping track of finance and budget while preparing tenders for any subcontractors.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, EHS, & Customer Service to plan, schedule, predict, and manage opportunities that are presented by customers.
- Coordinating with Quala Rail Specialty & Quala Industrial Specialty, engineers, and other operational supervisors for planning the project, providing technical assistance to industrial external/internal field service teams, HSE reviews for project process / procedure and maintaining the project standards as per the guidelines by regulatory authorities.
- Coordinating with suppliers, fieldwork coordinators, subcontractors, and other field staff, supervising the field work for accomplishing the project work for the organization.
- Managing the contract discussions with third party contractors, local planning authorities, and other project specific personnel for carrying out the project responsibilities efficiently.
- Coordinating with environmental regulatory authorities for obtaining the upgraded environmental. compliance guidelines and work accordingly for accomplishing the project responsibilities.
- Be in the circle of any specific requirements that customers may need.
- Work with Operations to help oversee project financials (cost of disposal, labor, equipment, etc.)
- Work closely with the Director or Operations to ensure budgets are maintained and costs are accounted for.
- Track and analyze performance against overall goals.
- Report progress to Director of Operations and Executive team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in industrial engineering or another related scientific/ technical field.
- Ability to understand, write, and implement chemical cleaning procedures.
- Working knowledge of environmental laws and legislations.
- Creativity and sense of innovation to devise new approaches to solve complicated industrial/cleaning/disposal issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to effectively work with all levels within the company.
- Comfortable using multiples types of software including Gmail, Google Suite, and Microsoft Suite.
