Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Valley Healthcare System, Inc. The LPN will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, assisting with procedures, maintaining accurate patient records, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. The LPN will work closely with the medical team to ensure quality patient care and support the overall operations of the healthcare organization. The LPN will assists physicians and non-physician clinicians (NP and PA) with the examination and treatment of patients. Tuesday - Thursday 8-5, 8:30 - 5:30 and 8:am - 8:90

Qualifications

Valid and current LPN license

Experience in direct patient care and medication administration

Duties and Responsibilities: The authority and duties of the Licensed Practical Nurse shall include but not be limited to:
A. HEALTH EDUCATION/COMMUNITY OUTREACH:
Maintains and conducts patient education.
B. PATIENT CARE:

Assesses the health status of all patients. Assists in prioritizing the patient's immediate needs.

Responsible for facilitating patient flow.

Records patient's physical condition by observation, taking vital signs, and questioning patient on physical problems and history, prior to physician's exam.

Organizes assessment data so that it is accurate, complete, and accessible. Collects data from client by interviewing, observing, inspecting, and palpating; then, reports and records. Supports and adheres to administrative and nursing service policies and procedures.

Monitors and maintains the Emergency Cart. Maintains adequate medical supplies; cleans, wraps, and sterilizes instruments.

Coordinates patient flow into and out of exam rooms.

Assists in training of CMA/Nursing students and CMA/Nursing personnel.

Performs ancillary procedures, as requested by physician Le. EKG's, tympanometry peak flows, audiometry, visual acuity, surgery set-ups, etc.

Triage patients requesting to be seen following policy guidelines.

Volunteers for outreach activities such as health fairs when available.

Acts as a positive role model for other staff.

Performs other duties, as assigned.
Evaluation: The evaluation of work performance, including: specific duties, responsibilities, demeanor, and work ethic, will be ongoing and implemented by the Clinical Coordinator per center policies.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Practical Nurses License in the State of Georgia. Acquired nursing skills with one to two years of practical nursing experience. Knowledge of all phases of primary health care delivery. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated and detailed instructions, in order to plan and perform job functions. Ability to meet deadlines, to concentrate and pay close attention to details; also, ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently. Previous supervisory experience helpful.
Status: FLSA exempt position; OSHA high risk position; ADA negotiable position.

We are required by law to protect patient privacy, identifiable patient information, and all properties containing such information.
Physical Requirements: Varied activities include standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting. Employee must possess full range of body motion including the ability to assist or lift patients when necessary; occasional weight bearing to exceed 50 pounds, use of portable stretchers/wheelchairs encouraged. Employee must possess hand-eye coordination with normal range of vision and hearing abilities. This position frequently requires working under stressful conditions and frequently requires irregular work hours.
Environmental Working Conditions: This position includes both clerical and medical responsibilities. Employee is frequently exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical cleaning and processing solutions which my included ionizing radiation plus other elements common in a clinical environment.
