Founded in 2022, Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. (“LVGP” or the “Company) is the promoter and operator of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, which takes place annually with the next grand prix in November 2024. LVGP has an exciting role available for the Senior Staff Accountant position, reporting to the Manager of Finance.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate for this role will seamlessly navigate between the details and the big picture. This position plays a critical role within accounting and finance. The Senior Staff Accountant will take the lead on the preparation of financial reporting and other accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare routine and non-routine journal entries (revenue, cash, AR, operating expenses, fixed assets, AP, accruals) to ensure proper recognition.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of higher balance and risk accounts
- Perform analytical review of balance sheet and income statement fluctuations
- Review all work (such as journal entries and reconciliations) prepared by and provide on-the-job coaching to Staff Accountants and Accounting Clerks
- Assist with management of the AP, AR, and fixed asset systems (calculating additions, disposals, and depreciation)
- Assist with coordination of internal and external audit requests
- Assist management with the development and documentation of key processes and controls
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of financial workflows and controls
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and reporting packages
- Assist in the creation of budget reports and preparation of annual budgets
- Assist in the execution and implementation of various financial projects and system initiatives
- Perform all other duties as assigned with a high quality of work
- Special projects as considered necessary

Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor or higher degree in Finance or Accounting
- 2+ years of experience in finance or accounting
- Public Accounting experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Team Player with ability to collaborate with other departments as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Work under pressure, both independently and in collaboration with others, to meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and strong ethical standards
- Demonstrate a proficient level of knowledge in accounting
- Knowledge and ability to use applicable information and systems to meet work needs
- Ability to monitor and collect data to assess accuracy, integrity, analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP) rules and regulations and systems of internal control and be able to interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation, and crate financial reports and presentations as needed
- Demonstrated proficiency in Micrsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Proficiency in Micrsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
- Skilled with ERP systems
- Ability to quickly understand and comply with Company policies, procedures and practices
