Staff Accountant – Fund Accounting
Trident Fund Services, Inc. (“TFSI”) has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant – Fund Accounting. The position is responsible for providing basic full-cycle accounting support to the Fund Accounting line of the business servicing private equity, hedge funds, crypto and venture capital funds and investors. This position may also be assigned audit functions as determined by manager.
Ideal candidates will meet the prerequisite job knowledge, skills and education as described below, and possess some work experience or exposure to public accounting, tax accounting or fund/portfolio accounting.
TFSI provides alternative investment fund administration services to clients primarily based in the United States and is a division of Trident Trust Group, founded in 1978, which provides administration services to trusts, foundations, corporate entities, and alternative investment funds globally. The job description for this position follows:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintains general ledgers
- Calculates monthly NAV (Net Asset Value) and performance returns
- Converts broker transactions to Advent Geneva friendly transactions
- Delivers monthly financial packages to fund managers
- Performs month and year end closes along with completing special reporting specific to each fund
- Sends monthly statements to each investor
- Evaluates new subscription packets, performs due diligence, and performs background checks on new investors for compliance with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) policies and regulations
- Adds new investors to software and systems
- Provides daily operational support for funds, including banking services, generating wire transfers, bank account transfers, and account set up*
- Prepares financial statements, footnotes, and audit support files
- Completes other duties, as assigned by the Manager or Senior Manager, Fund Accounting
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline required
- 0-2 years’ related experience for Junior Staff Accountant, 1-3 years’ related experience for Staff Accountant I, and 2 plus years’ related experience for Staff Accountant II
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Must have intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, comfortable with simple and moderately complex Excel formulas and tools
- Basic knowledge of QuickBooks and Advent Geneva
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and effectively manage client workload
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of professionals (colleagues, fund managers, investors) verbally and written communication
- Ability to analyze numbers, financial statements, and understand performance trends
