Summary of Position Role/Responsibilities
The Manager of NCLEX Education is responsible for overseeing and maintaining a comprehensive review program to prepare internationally educated nurses to take licensure examination to practice in the United States (NCLEX, CGFNS, or other). This role will evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives, methodologies, tester performance, curriculum, and internal/external learning platforms. The Manager of NCLEX Education proposes developments in curriculum to address deficiencies in subject matter areas. This role also serves as a mentor and facilitator for the NCLEX Education team and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility to offer a robust program that meets the business needs of the company.
Essential Functions of the Job
· Supervise non-exempt and exempt level employees, including involvement in interviewing, hiring, and training department staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complains and resolving problems.
· Direct and plan the development of all duties and responsibilities of the NCLEX Education team and oversee day-to-day management of the NCLEX Education team to ensure that all processes/procedures are adhered to and department KPIs are met.
· Assist and support the Senior Director with the strategic plan, direction, and future state of the NCLEX Education team.
· Conduct NCLEX Education team meetings and share pertinent details with the team members to enhance performance.
· Review active webinar topics regularly and provide feedback to update content based on current practice and evidence-based knowledge.
· Recommend adding or renewing webinar topics based on NCLEX tester needs and both NCLEX Educator and tester feedback.
· Analyze the progress of NCLEX testers in the program by reviewing feedback from NCLEX Educators to determine the best course of action for a tester’s success.
· Mitigate risk to the NCLEX Program by evaluating cost/benefit analysis of: Re-testers, testers with poor scores and/or lack of engagement/communication
· Provide recommendations to the leadership team to develop and improve the overall quality of the NCLEX program, ensuring that overall content, resources, and implementation meets the strategic needs of the organization.
· Provide mentoring and support to team leads or senior team members with department-wide projects or initiatives, ensuring that the project goals meet the needs of the organization.
· Oversee the NCLEX Education department budget while engaging the team members through team building activities and providing resources to exemplify performance.
· Escalate issues that are complex or high priority to the leadership team and propose and implement actionable solutions.
· Assist senior members of the NCLEX Education team in developing activities that contribute to the professional development of NCLEX Educators
· Maintain consistent communication with internal teams as needed as it relates to an assigned NCLEX tester’s progress in the program.
· Review fail-huddle reports prepared by NCLEX Educators, determining HCP qualification for the NCLEX retest pathway.
· Serve as a point of escalation for testers not progressing through the program as expected (poor scores, lack of communication, etc.)
· Prepare and/or lead webinars as needed to optimize test readiness for those testers preparing to take NCLEX exam.
· Review the unique needs of the NCLEX Program as it relates to our business platform and recommend changes in workflow/design to meet the needs of the program, NCLEX Education team, and testers.
· Discuss and implement retention strategies and growth opportunities for the NCLEX Education team with the leadership team.
· Conduct a final review of testers getting who are scheduled to test and provide clinical clearance to take NCLEX
· Review At-Risk testers for continuance in the Program and drop Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) as needed.
· Analyze reports reflecting team performance on a consistent basis and prepare reports or provide feedback as requested by Clinical Management team and/or Executive Leadership Team
· Connect with members of the NCLEX Education team, to obtain their suggestions for improvement and provide feedback on individual performance.
· Oversee the enrollment, review and extension of HCPs enrolled into the NCLEX program.
