POSITION TITLE: VP of Retail and Marketing Operations
POSITION STATUS: Full-Time Exempt (Salary)
POSITION RANGE OF PAY: TBD + Bonus Eligible, DOE
Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Vice President of Retail and Marketing Operations who will report directly to the CEO. This pivotal role involves managing nine dispensary locations and overseeing our marketing team to strategize and optimize our growth trajectory. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail operations with a specialized focus on the customer experience and marketing strategy, ensuring our dispensaries achieve operational excellence while effectively reaching and engaging our target market. Leadership will be crucial in driving our business forward, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring the seamless execution of our growth initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and strategic direction for retail operations and marketing initiatives.

Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to define and execute the company’s retail growth strategy.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of retail and marketing professionals.

Manage the store P&L and oversee the daily operations of nine dispensary locations, ensuring operational excellence and consistency across all stores.

Implement and maintain efficient back-of-house standards, including inventory control, loss prevention, and compliance with AZDHS regulations.

Monitor and analyze KPIs to optimize sales and profitability, and drive operational efficiency.

Utilize sales data, market research, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in retail and marketing practices and strategies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the company’s brand and products.

Lead the marketing team in executing promotional campaigns, advertising efforts, in-store marketing, and customer engagement initiatives,ensuring alignment with retail and business objectives
- Champion and manage initiatives to enhance the in-store and online customer experience, cultivating and ensuring a market leading shopping experience
- Develop and manage pricing and promotional strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.

Work closely with the finance and accounting teams to monitor financial performance and ensure strategies align with overall financial goals.

Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring accurate tracking, forecasting, and replenishment to meet customer demand.

Implement inventory control measures to minimize loss and ensure product availability.

Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.

Serve as the primary liaison between the executive management team, store leaders, third-party purchasing team, and the marketing department to ensure alignment on business objectives.

Foster collaborative working relationships across business units to drive growth, strategic initiatives, and global operational standards.

Develop and manage budgets for retail and marketing operations, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Prepare and present regular reports on retail and marketing performance to the CEO and the Board of Directors.

Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Skills and Requirements:

10+ years of retail multi-unit store management experience.

Cannabis industry required.

Ability to travel between Phoenix and Tucson semi-monthly.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize workload to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.

Collaborative team player capable of nurturing and developing retail and marketing management.

Proven leadership ability and strength in building internal partnerships.

Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills to implement strategic initiatives from initial idea through execution.
