As the Maintenance Supervisor for Scramble employed within the Scramble Play Group, you must be friendly, outgoing, and ready to communicate effectively about the wonderful and unique opportunities Scramble provides children and their families to discover better play. Additionally, they can manage the maintenance staff to insure the acceptable physical appearance of Scramble facilities; provide corrective, preventative and emergency maintenance; minor plumbing/electrical carpentry, and floor repairs, company equipment, HVAC systems and any other duties assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to and provide all necessary services in connection with emergencies and calls for service.
- Communicate hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Inform supervisor of any residents or guests responsible for damage done to community structures or grounds.
- Ensure completion of service order requests timely and accurately.
- Monitor maintenance supply inventory and place orders as needed.
- Service and maintain community equipment, thereby allowing continued, uninterrupted use.
- Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, heating, air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Complete inspection forms, i.e. documenting boiler readings, water heater temperatures, and routine service performed on systems.
- Assist and/or supervise service companies contracted to perform specific duties at community.
- Supervise performance of other maintenance members and any other maintenance or cleaning personnel assigned to the facility temporarily.
- Assist, as needed, during facility emergency situations (example: snow removal, fire flood, natural or man-made disasters).
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of maintenance experience in:
- Individual HVAC repair and preventative maintenance of individual or central plant equipment
- Appliance, plumbing, and electrical systems and repairs
- Ability to oversee and perform all maintenance repairs and duties independently, professionally, and in a timely manner
- Previous supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to supervise 3+ maintenance personnel
- Initiative and motivation to continue training to develop skills (licenses and certifications preferred)
- Exceptional organizational, time management, scheduling, and delegation skills
- Exceptional leadership, supervisory, and personnel development skills
- Skill in using social media Key Performance Indicators to monitor the success of communications campaigns
- Proactive, demonstrating the ability to identify, address, and resolve problems as well as suggest improvements
- Organized, responsible and dependable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to commit up to 40 hours of work a week during the hours of 8am to 6pm some weekend projects may be required.
- Certification in Fridge Maintenance
- Certification in Plumbing
- Bonus: Certification in Electrical work
Qualifications
- Maintenance personnel must be able to ascend or descend multiple flights of stairs and inspect and service locations where sidewalks or walkways are not provided.
- lifting dead weight more than 40 pounds (bags of snow melting chemicals, air handlers, HVAC units, small appliances, etc.).
- Climbing ladders to reach heights above 7 feet from ground (change light bulbs or fixtures, roof inspections, repairs to plumbing located in ceilings, etc.).
- Stooping, bending or crawling to gain access to confined areas, to effect repairs (crawl spaces, plumbing access panels, sink base cabinets for plumbing traps or garbage disposal repairs, etc.).
